Home to 520 students in pre-kindergarten through 5th grade, Garden Hills Elementary provides a positive learning environment designed to help children reach their full potential – both as students and individuals. Our school has a well-earned reputation for effectively and creatively meeting the needs of each child. We maintain our standard of excellence by providing our students with:
Built in 1938, Garden Hills Elementary is on the National Register of Historic Places. The beautiful brick building is nestled among the older homes and stately trees of Atlanta’s historic Garden Hills neighborhood. Over the past ten years, there have been many improvements and renovations beginning with a modern gymnasium with an additional art room. A beautifully landscaped walkway from Rumson Road to the school was the result of a joint effort by the elementary school PTA and the Garden hills neighborhood so children and parents can enjoy walking to school.
Our school currently serves historic Buckhead neighborhoods including Garden Hills, Peachtree Park, Peachtree Heights, Lindridge Martin Manor, Pine Hills and Buckhead Atlanta district.
At Garden Hills Elementary, our mission is to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who are well-informed and respectful of others. We hold our students to the highest academic standards while providing them with the direction, support, and encouragement they need to be successful.
Because children learn in different ways, we offer flexible programs that help each child meet his or her maximum potential. Our students benefit from small class sizes that promote classroom unity and foster lasting friendships. At Garden Hills children are taught respect for the individual and are empowered to go out into the world with compassion and caring for others.
BUILDING DREAMS FIELD RENOVATION CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Given the GHES’s location in the heart of Buckhead, and the fact that its students come from a very tight geographic area surrounding the school, many of them do not have adequate access to space to run and play. Most of them do not enjoy the benefit of large yards or swing sets at home. It has become vital for the school to provide the space and equipment for its students to be active. We would like to equip Garden Hills Elementary School with facilities on par with those of its neighboring schools. Please check out our capital campaign site at www.fixthefield.com
